This PCB can measure capacitance values from six capacitors and transmit them as digital data to external devices (e.g., computers). An AD7147-1 capacitance-to-digital converter (CDC) chip from Analog Devices, Inc. is used to convert the analog capacitance into digital form.
An ATMEGA644PA-AU microcontroller reads the digital output from the CDC via I2C communication and forwards it to external devices over UART through a 1×5 connector. The microcontroller is programmed according to the AD7147-1 datasheet to handle data acquisition and transmission. Firmware updates can be performed via a 2×3 ISP connector using a USB AVR programmer.
